Performing Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy

Researcher Objectives

Dr. Nilam C. Shah, an assistant professor of chemistry at Lake Forest College in Illinois, specializes in surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS), localized surface plasmon spectroscopy, and nanoparticle fabrication. Dr. Shah teaches several introductory chemistry and instrumental analysis courses.

Before coming to Lake Forest College, Dr. Shah served as a research assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry at Northwestern University. Prior to her appointment at Northwestern, she completed her Ph.D. and postdoctoral research fellowship in Prof. Richard Van Duyne’s group.
